[Credit Program] Call for Applications: Credit Exchange Program with Sapienza University of Rome

In November 2024, Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) and Sapienza University of Rome officially signed a student exchange agreement. In accordance with the cooperation agreement and the project implementation plan, the selection process for this credit program is now open. The details are as follows:

I. University Profile

Sapienza University of Rome (Italian: Sapienza – Università di Roma), also known as the University of Rome "La Sapienza," is located in Rome, Italy, the birthplace of European civilization. It is an international comprehensive research university. After over 700 years of reform and development, it has become a world-renowned university with high academic prestige. Founded in 1303, Sapienza is ranked 134th in the QS World University Rankings, with its Computer Science discipline ranked 71st. It is the oldest university in Rome and one of the largest in Europe. Its mission is to contribute to the development of a knowledge society through research, excellence in education, high-quality instruction, and international cooperation. With currently 122,000 enrolled students, it has the largest student registration number in Europe.

II. Program Details and Eligibility

Students will go to Sapienza University of Rome in the Spring Semester of 2026 to complete courses for one semester or one academic year.

1. Quota: 7 students (open to all grades).

2. Target Majors: Computer Science and Technology, Internet of Things (IoT) Engineering, Data Science and Big Data Technology, Artificial Intelligence, etc. For details, please refer to: https://corsidilaurea.uniroma1.it/en.

3. Duration: 1 semester or 1 academic year (subject to the actual requirements of Sapienza University of Rome).

4. Language Requirements: English B2 level or above; if choosing Italian-taught courses, proof of Italian proficiency is required.

5. GPA: 3.0 or above.

6. Priority: Priority will be given to students from the School of Computer Science.

III. Application Method and Deadline

IV. Program Fees and Funding

1. Tuition: Students only need to pay tuition to NPU during the exchange period.

2. Personal Expenses: Accommodation, insurance, and living expenses during the exchange period shall be borne by the students.

3. Funding: According to the Administrative Measures for Funding Undergraduate Students of Northwestern Polytechnical University for Overseas Exchanges, selected undergraduate students are eligible for a subsidy of 5,000 RMB/month and a one-time round-trip travel subsidy of 8,000 RMB. Graduate students may apply for the college's short-term visiting scholar funding.
