To thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions and further advance the implementation of the Implementation Opinions on Earnestly Studying and Implementing the Spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's Important Instructions and Accelerating the Construction of the Kazakhstan Branch of Northwestern Polytechnical University (Document No. [2024] 81 of the University Party Committee), starting from August 10, Guo Bin, Associate Dean of the School of Computer Science, Zhang Yu, Director of the Department of Intelligent Computing Systems, Cui Helei, Assistant to the Dean, and Shao Xinge, Foreign Affairs Secretary, embarked on a series of admissions promotion and interview work at the Kazakhstan Branch.
From August 10 to 16, Professor Zhang Yu took the lead in traveling to Kazakhstan to conduct admissions consultations and policy briefings. He provided a detailed introduction to the educational environment, teaching resources, scientific research strength, and future development prospects for students of Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) and its School of Computer Science. Through precise market positioning and in-depth policy interpretation, he helped students gain a better understanding of studying and living in China, successfully attracting a group of interested candidates and laying a solid foundation for the subsequent interviews and selection process.


Subsequently, from August 22 to 29, the delegation consisting of Guo Bin, Cui Helei, and Shao Xinge visited Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and conducted interviews. During the interviews, special attention was paid to students' innovative abilities and passion for scientific research, ensuring the selection of outstanding students who can both adapt to NPU's academic culture and bring new vitality to the school. This admissions activity is not only a display of academic strength but also a cultural exchange. Such interactions deepen their understanding of Chinese culture and education, building a bridge for communication and learning between young people of the two countries.




The School warmly welcomes students from Kazakhstan to study in China. With its outstanding teaching quality and research achievements, it embraces every student who loves science and technology and pursues excellence, contributing the strength of the School of Computer Science to cultivating successors to China-Kazakhstan friendship. Up to now, a total of 47 students have been admitted to the Computer Science and Technology program.
