[Zhang Sheng, School of Computer Science] The 3rd Silk Road Network Security Forum "Silk Road Cup" Network Security Skills Competition, guided by Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission of Shaanxi Province and Shaanxi Public Security Network and hosted by Shaanxi Association of Information Network Security, was held in Xi'an on May 23rd.NPU(Northwestern Polytechnical University) Delegation, represented by three undergraduates admitted in 2017 including Liu Fengyu, has won the only First Prize of the Competition and been awarded ¥10,000.
TheNPUDelegation, led byNPUIT Center, has competed against many teams from governments, SOEs, banks, universities & colleges, and media. The Competition was about actual sandbox and attack&defense drilling. Eventually,NPUDelegation has won the champion out of all teams based on our firm basic knowledge and practical abilities.
Great importance has been attached to the innovative and practical ability training of students by School of Computer Science.Based on platforms including Undergraduate Program Design Innovation & Practice Base, Soccer Robot Competition Base, University-Enterprise Cooperative Innovation & Practice Clubs etc., innovative practical training modes are promoted, and more and more undergraduates are guided and encouraged to take part in technological innovation and practical researches. Therefore, they have won many titles and trophies in domestic and international innovative competitions.
It is understood that the Forum has attracted leading experts in national administrative departments, renowned scholars in cybersecurity industry, top experts from national mainstream security manufacturers, representatives from international renowned security manufacturers, experts of cybersecurity in national key industries, and other 600-odd people from over 30 domestic renowned cybersecurity enterprises such as Qi An Xin, WPS Office, China Cybersecurity Review Technology and Certification Center, SANGFOR, NSFOCUS, Clover Sec etc.
